Ask the UCI Experts About Down Syndrome
This panel presentation will provide an overview about the common medical and behavioral health conditions associated with Down syndrome across the lifespan. There will also be an extended time for questions and answers by the UCI experts in Down Syndrome. Families of individuals with Down syndrome of any age are invited to attend.

Presenters:
Dr. Christy Hom

Christy Hom, Ph.D., ABPdN is a pediatric neuropsychologist, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, and the Co-Principal Investigator of several research studies on Down syndrome being conducted at UC Irvine and CHOC Hospital. She has been evaluating and treating children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 30 years at UCLA, Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, CHOC Hospital, and UCI.

Dr. Emily Dow
Dr. Emily Dow is a semi-retired family physician who practices at the UCI Family Health Center in Santa Ana. She has been at UCI for more than 23 years, and her career focus has been the care of underserved communities, including individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Minodora Totoiu
Dr. Minodora Totoiu is a pediatric neurologist at CHOC Children’s Hospital and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UC Irvine. She is currently serving the clinical needs of children with Down syndrome at CHOC and since 2012 she has been participating in adult Down Syndrome research programs at UCI.
