What is a Letter of Intent?
No one knows your child or loved one with special needs as well as you do. But what would happen if you were unable to care for him or her? Without you, your loved one would become dependent on other caregivers who simply do not possess all of your personal knowledge and insight. A Letter of Intent is a document that provides information to others should you no longer be able to care for your loved one with special needs. The goal is to memorialize your knowledge of those needs in order to guide future caregivers in providing the best possible care.
