The Buddy Walk is a trademarked program that was created by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to assist local parent groups in their advocacy efforts. With more than 300 walks taking place in 2011 around the country and abroad, we are able to speak with a unified and stronger voice on creating awareness of Down syndrome.

The Buddy Walk is a short distance walk that anyone can participate in. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.

The Buddy Walk is a fantastic way to raise awareness throughout our community, families, teams, and corporate sponsors. This year the DSALA anticipates over 1,800 walkers!

Participants have access to a vendor fair, which offers products, information, and services that are especially meaningful to families with a special needs child.
